Sophie Willis
Coach
Sophie was born and raised in Vancouver and attended Lord Byng Secondary School. She was involved in many sports and athletic programs throughout her childhood and adolescence with a focus on downhill skiing, field hockey, and soccer. Sophie has always had a passion for teaching, especially young learners. Throughout secondary and post-secondary she worked with kids in many different capacities including nannying, kids summer camps, and swim lessons.
Quite certain that she wanted to become a teacher but with a desire for more practical experience, Sophie set off to Vietnam for a year to teach English. Upon her return, she went on to complete her BEd at UBC. She has been teaching in elementary school for the last four years where she enjoys coaching multiple sports teams.
Off the court and outside of the classroom, Sophie enjoys morning runs, hikes with her dog, and a good book.
