Ishaan Modi
Coach
Ishaan Modi grew up in Vancouver and currently attends Harvard University and the New England Conservatory of Music. Having first been introduced to tennis at the age of 4, he has since become a passionate player, fan, and coach. In high school, Ishaan had the opportunity to play on the St. George’s tennis team, where he gained invaluable competitive experience. Ishaan also follows the professional game closely - his favourite players are Roger Federer, Denis Shapovalov, and Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Ishaan deeply enjoys working with children, growing up with two younger brothers of his own. In the past, Ishaan has been a part-time babysitter as well as a Pedalheads instructor. His experiences in these positions carried over to Summer Smash, where he first began coaching in 2018.
This fall, Ishaan will enter his third year of the Harvard/NEC dual-degree program, where he is pursuing an education in medicine and music. In his free time, Ishaan enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends. Ishaan hopes to continue playing and coaching tennis for many years to come.
